Parsnip Soup
  • 60 grams margarine
  • 3 onions, cut into small cubes
  • 10 white carrots, pealed and cut into medium cubes
  • 1/3 cup of flour
  • 2 1/2 liters of boiling water
  • 3 potatoes, pealed and cut into medium slices
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • chopped parsley
And here's how you do it....... 
  1. Start by melting the margarine in a big pot with a thick bottom, and fry the onion till it browns a little. Add the carrots and continue frying for 5 more minutes.
  2. Add the flour, and stir till there's no more clogs. Gradually add the water while stirring.
  3. Add the potatoes, salt and pepper. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Add salt and pepper according to taste.
  4. Pour into serving bowls, and sprinkle some parsley on top.
